It’s been a while since we’ve introduced ourselves. As time goes on, I get clearer on how I want to share the message of what Spark Solutions is and what we do. If you’re curious, read on!
Who Is Spark Solutions?
Spark Solutions helps sport organizers to deliver better sports. We want everyone who participates in sport to have safe, welcoming, inclusive, and positive experiences.
Who is Lara?
Lara Schroeder is Spark Solutions’ Owner and Principal Consultant. I have an academic background in sport, recreation, and tourism and have over 12 years of experience within the sport industry. I’ve been a competitive and recreational athlete, I’m a certified coach and official, and I have various experiences as a volunteer and administrator from local to international sport.
I decided to pursue sports management at university so that I could give back to something that has brought so much to my life. Once I started working in sports, I came to understand that participating in sports isn’t positive for everyone. Many people experience negative things that drive them to quit and never return. Many sports organizers are volunteers and know where they want to go but not how to get there. I knew I could bring my expertise to more sports organizations by starting my own business.
Who Does Spark Solutions Work With?
Spark Solutions works with community sport organizations, like local clubs, associations, and private academies. We work with municipal recreation organizations, like community recreation boards and departments. Also, we work with the seven sport, culture, and recreation districts in Saskatchewan. Spark Solutions works with provincial and territorial sport organizations, as well as national sport organizations. The majority of these organizations are non-profit. Although we’re located in Saskatchewan, we work with organizations across Canada too.
Do we work with organizations outside of sport and recreation? Yes, we can! We haven’t yet but if you think we would be a good match to work together, let’s chat.
How Does Spark Solutions Work with Clients?
We work with clients in three main ways.
- Develop strategy – we work with clients to develop multi-year strategic plans and conduct organizational and governance reviews.
- Engage stakeholders – we facilitate meetings and conduct stakeholder engagement, including surveys and focus groups.
- Share knowledge – we facilitate webinars and workshops and offer downloadable resources like information guides and templates.

When you work with Spark Solutions, you can expect a collaborative and engaging process. We’ll bring passion and enthusiasm to your project. The project will be tailored to meet your needs and we will guide your organization through processes to achieve their goals.
